Peter joined Andel in 1999 on a student placement as part of his MSc in Control Systems Engineering at Huddersfield University. After completion of the project, Peter was offered a full-time, hands-on position as Installation Manager specifically focussing on leak detection system installations.
Having built up a successful London-based team, Peter moved on to national contract management before being made Operations Director in 2017.
In 2019 Peter became Managing Director, reinforcing how loyalty and hard work are rewarded at Andel which still remains the company ethos today.
Mark started his working life selling potatoes before working for the family’s clothing business, where he stayed until 1999. Mark then started his own consultancy focusing on taking UK companies to China where in 1999 he was appointed as the first foreign adviser on international trade to the regional government of Zhejiang. In 2001 Mark met Ian Pogson, the founder of Andel, who persuaded Mark to join the company as Commercial Director to focus on sales and marketing.
Between 1984 and 2012 Mark had a parallel career in local politics and was a Liberal Democrat elected council member on Leeds City Council. Between 2003 and 2007 Mark was Leeds City Council Leader.
Mark successfully overcame thyroid cancer in 1999 contracted from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster which resulted in the permanent removal of his vocal cords. Known to all that meet him as 'the gurgling man' because of his strange voice, Mark is in every way larger than life.
Dr Marshall Booth spent nine years in academia studying electronic systems and control engineering as both undergraduate and postgraduate. Marshall was initially employed by Andel in 1996 through Bolton Institute, on a teaching company scheme to develop Andel's Ranger® leak detection system, the Floodline® 128, which won the 1999 Engineering Excellence Award presented by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
On completion of this project in 1999 Marshall joined Andel as Technical Manager overseeing product development, later being promoted to Technical Director, a position he remains in today.
Originally from South Africa, Willem moved to the UK in 2002, embarking on a career path rich in growth and progression within the construction, public and manufacturing sectors. With a goal for growth and development, Willem progressed through various frontline and management positions honing his expertise in operations strategy, team leadership and project management.
Willem's qualifications complement his practical experience, which assisted him when joining Andel in 2018 as project manager after a career at Islington Council where Willem was first introduced to Andel. Willem soon progressed within the business and was appointed Operations Director in 2021. Willem now plays a key role in assisting business growth.
Aaron graduated from University of Hull with a degree in chemistry which took him into a varied career in the waste treatment industry where he was first introduced to Andel. Aaron then joined Andel in 2013 as a sales advisor.
As Andel expanded, Aaron was appointed the manager of the sales team, in 2021 he became Sales Director and a crucial role in pushing Andel to the next level.
Shelley joined Andel in May 2013 as an administration assistant working with Peter Double on the Floodline® leak detection installation side, following a previous career in construction operations and a brief period with the NHS.
Shelley thrived in the role progressing to managing the office and Floodline® leak detection maintenance.
Having completed her CIPD qualification, Shelley was appointed Human Resources Director in 2021, where she continues to support the growth of the business assisting in all areas.
Tony started work as an apprentice engineer in the public transport industry and worked his way up to Engineering Director of Arriva Southern Counties and London.
In 2015, Tony started his own consulting business, designing and implementing asset management systems for several industries, including app development.
In 2021, following many years working with Andel on several projects during his time with Arriva, Tony joined the team, as a special projects executive, graduating to the Product Development Director in 2022.
Matthew was one of the founding members of Andel and joined as the fourth employee of the company in 1996. He started his Andel career as sales coordinator, progressing to Floodline® leak detection Estimating Manager, a role he still carries out today.
Ben joined Andel in 2005 installing tanks as part of the oil storage maintenance team, progressing to carrying out oil storage compliance and interceptor inspections. This naturally led into an estimating manager role and from there Ben was appointed manager of the divisional team becoming Oil Storage Maintenance Divisional Director in 2020.
Teona joined Andel in September 2020 as an Administration Assistant, having met Mark Harris at a jobs fair in her final year at university where Teona gained a First-class Degree in Business and Supply Chain Management.
Teona quickly progressed to Office Manager then took over her current role as IWS Contracts Manager leading the drainage, wastewater and interceptor maintenance team.
Teona is passionate about her job and has learnt much in her time at Andel, absorbing all the knowledge she can from her peers. Teona is a valuable member of the team, driving Andel forward.
Gill is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in logistics. After serving in the Royal Navy, she transitioned to a new career with Andel.
Initially responsible for despatch and inventory, Gill's skill set and dedication led to her promotion to Manufacturing Manager. Throughout her time at Andel, Gill has actively participated in lean manufacturing initiatives and has also engaged in Made Smarter training.
With a strong background in military service and a passion for continuous improvement, Gill is dedicated to improving productivity and driving success at Andel.
Born in the Netherlands, Gerbren always had a strong drive to explore the world. Having gained a Master's Degree in public administration with a specialisation in international development, he worked in a number of positions in some of Africa’s leading non-governmental organisations.
At the same time Gerbren started a business development consultancy, building on years of part-time sales experience while studying. In this role Gerbren guided several start-up companies as well as multi-million pound projects.
Following a move to Leeds, Gerbren met Mark Harris and joined Andel as a Flood Defence Sales Manager. Gerbren has recently progressed to Export Sales Manager where he is also responsible for Andel's development in Western Europe.
Having previously excelled as Business Development Manager and Customer Excellence Manager, Julie has a track record of consistently meeting challenging targets.
Her journey at Andel began in early 2023 as PA to Directors and Export Coordinator, progressing to Head of National Sales in just 11 months. Julie is eager to leverage her skills in her new role and is enthusiastic about assisting Aaron Brian in steering the company in its continued success.
Elliot has worked in some of the region's leading marketing agencies and prior to joining Andel ran his own marketing business for over 20 years.
Elliot has a wealth of experience managing client accounts across all major industry sectors including financial services, manufacturing, retail, logistics, construction, public sector, environmental and the third sector. Elliot's focus is now on developing the Andel brand and and to generate demand for products and services in the UK and overseas.
