Andel Rainwater Harvesting Tanks

Andel Rainwater Harvesting Tanks

Andel rainwater harvesting tanks can reduce the water consumption of an average household by up to 40%

Andel’s underground HDPE rainwater harvesting tanks are a reliable, environmentally-friendly solution for collecting and storing rainwater from rooftops, paved surfaces and other drainage areas.

Captured rainwater can be reused for a variety of non-potable applications, reducing reliance on mains water and helping to cut utility bills.

Andel rainwater harvesting tanks are installed underground and can be used for a variety of purposes such as irrigation, domestic use and groundwater recharge.

Water harvesting is environmentally friendly by conserving water resources, reducing stormwater run-off and mitigating the risk of flooding.

Using harvested rainwater contributes to greater water security and sustainable development.

Andel Rainwater Harvesting Tanks

Andel rainwater harvesting tanks are moulded in monolithic, high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Monolithic HDPE body – Rotationally moulded in a single, rib-reinforced piece for maximum strength and structural integrity.

Chemical and impact resistant – HDPE offers outstanding resistance to corrosion, fuels and mechanical stress – yet remains lightweight for fast, safe handling. Far more durable and damage-resistant than traditional GRP alternatives.

Low-maintenance, cost-efficient  One-piece construction with no internal components to replace means fewer installation issues, minimal servicing, and lower lifetime costs.

Why harvest rainwater?

  • Cuts mains-water consumption and water bills
  • Relieves pressure on storm-drain networks, helping to mitigate flood risk
  • Stores water at the point of use for improved site resilience
  • Store water where it’s needed
  • Complies with BREEAM, SuDS and local planning policy.

Regulatory compliance

  • BS 8515 – Rainwater harvesting systems (Code of Practice)
  • CIRIA C753 – SuDS-compliant design
  • BREEAM – Supports non-potable water efficiency targets
  • Building Regulations Part H – Rainwater drainage compliance

Typical applications:

  • Garden and landscape irrigation
  • Washing vehicles and equipment
  • Flushing toilets
  • Patio, window and driveway cleaning
  • Greenhouse and plant watering
  • Livestock watering
  • Filling water features or ponds
  • Emergency or backup water supply

Double filtration system

Incoming rainwater is routed through a pipe system into the tank. A dual filtration setup – including a top filter and internal filter basket – removes both organic debris and inorganic particles – such as leaves and sand. Clean, filtered water is stored in the tank and supplied to the draw-off point.

Tanks are fitted with an overflow mechanism which means that during heavy rainfall if the tank is full, any excess water is safely discharged into the stormwater drainage system. Rainwater harvesting tanks can be part of a garden irrigation system or power supply for domestic sanitary installations.

Frequently asked questions

It collects and stores rainwater from rooftops, gutters, and other drainage areas for future use, reducing reliance on mains water and promoting sustainable water management.

They are built from one-piece, lightweight, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), known for its strength, impact resistance, frost resistance, and chemical resistance.

Andel offers a range of rainwater harvesting tanks from 2000 litres to 5000 litres capacity.

The collected rainwater can be used for various purposes such as irrigation (gardens), domestic uses (e.g., toilet flushing, washing machines), and groundwater recharge.

Underground installation helps keep the water at a constant, cool temperature away from light, reducing the risk of discoloration or bacterial growth, and without compromising landscape.

Yes, they feature an integral self-cleansing filter system and a calmed inlet to prevent sediment displacement.

Tanks are fitted with an overflow mechanism that redirects excess water into the stormwater drainage system once the tank is full, helping to mitigate flood risk.
