UK insurers pay out around £1.8 million every day to customers making escape of water (EOW) claims on their buildings and home contents insurance. Nearly one in five claims is for damage caused by leaks with many in the winter months due to frozen pipes that have burst.

Sustainable, cost-effective and NSF REG4 approved , Andel FlowStop® 2 automatically isolates your water supply in the event of abnormal flow activity or the risk of freezing pipes. FlowStop® 2 can be installed in new builds and retrofitted into existing and occupied buildings.
FlowStop® consists of a control unit and a valve unit, which includes an integrated latching solenoid valve and a flow rate sensor. It actively monitors the water supply to a property, helping to detect and prevent leaks.
FlowStop® 2 is available for large-scale supply and can be installed by Andel or a chosen installer, with full technical support provided.

FlowStop® 2 isolates the water supply if no water is used for a pre-set period set by the user, automatically covering for periods when a property is temporarily vacated. This is useful for preventing leaks in empty properties going unchecked with potentially serious consequences.
There is also an option to add water leak detection sensors such as Andel’s FlexiPad, leak detection cable and tape for more localised monitoring in critical areas such as kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms, showers and WCs.
When the system goes into alarm, audible alarms can be silenced by pressing the mute button. When the problem has been checked and resolved, the system can be reset by holding the mute button for three seconds and the water supply will start to flow again.
The system performs an automatic solenoid exercise to avoid the build up of limescale. A yearly inspection is recommended by a qualified engineer to ensure the correct operation of the system.
FlowStop® 2 is an automatic water isolation system designed to reduce water wastage and prevent internal water damage by shutting off the water supply when abnormal flow is detected such as continuous flow, excessive flow rate, non-use or if there is a risk of freezing pipes. It comprises a wall-mounted control unit and a valve assembly with an integrated flow sensor and isolation valve.
FlowStop® 2 offers multiple adjustable protection modes. It provides freeze protection, time-out continuous flow protection, excessive flow rate protection, and 24-hour non-use protection. All these parameters are user-adjustable for flexibility.
Ideal for a range of settings such as student housing, hotels, offices, residential developments, social housing, unoccupied or multi-occupancy properties, particularly where water leaks pose real risks.
Yes. It can be linked with optional leak detection devices such as Andel's FlexiPad or Andel's water leak sensor cables for localised monitoring in kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas. It also offers relay connections to Building Management Systems (BMS) and SMS notifications for unattended properties.
If FlowStop® 2 activates, pressing the mute button silences the audible alarm. Holding the mute button for three seconds resets the system, restoring water flow, once the issue has been checked or resolved.
The control unit features a sleek double-gang faceplate with backlit LCD, status LED, and navigation buttons, installable either surface-mounted or flush-mounted into a standard back box. The valve unit is typically placed near pipework where the water supply enters the property and installation should be completed by Andel or a qualified installer.
FlowStop® 2 operates on mains power (110–240 VAC). It also provides volt-free relay output(s) rated at 30 V @ 1 A for integration with alarms, BMS, or other systems.
The system includes an automatic solenoid exercise routine to reduce limescale buildup. Andel recommends an annual inspection by a qualified engineer to confirm proper functioning.
FlowStop® 2 is now certified under the NSF International REG4 scheme for the UK – demonstrating full compliance with Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 ('Reg 4') – and supersedes WRAS approval. The NSF REG4 mark provides an independent third-party certification pathway, recognised alongside WRAS/Kiwa, for mechanical products and materials that come into contact with drinking water.
