Regulations state that above-ground oil storage tanks must have secondary containment. Site operators have a duty of care to prevent hydrocarbon leaks from equipment such as transformers and fuel storage tanks, as well as other contaminants such as chemicals, fertiliser and milk, from entering the ground and polluting the environment.
Andel's ReBund® is an environmentally friendly, modular, low-cost containment system giving long-term protection to oil storage facilities, generators, transformers or any other plant.
Robust, cost-effective and easy to install, ReBund® is primarily constructed from nonporous, durable, 100% post-industrial recycled plastic waste that would otherwise go to landfill. ReBund® is designed for easy on-site assembly for both new build and retrofit installations.
Installation is easy with no requirement for major plant equipment and no need to suspend core site operations during installation.
ReBund® is a modular system designed for easy transportation and can be quickly assembled on site by a team of two people with minimal ground disturbance.
Wall section panels and posts are installed like standard garden fencing and key base slabs are mounted on beams onto a prepared surface like laying flagstones. All internal surfaces are sealed with Andel quick-drying Cold Fusion Liquid Membrane for guaranteed 100% liquid retention.

ReBund® is supplied as panels, posts, post caps and key base slabs which are all constructed from 100% recycled plastics consisting of LDPE, HDPE, PP and other waste plastics, which together produce a robust material which is resistant to weather, UV, chemicals, temperature, impact and moisture.
Panels and posts have steel-pipe reinforcement for added strength.
Posts fit into a steel base plate which is bolted deep into a concrete foundation with chemical M16 stainless-steel anchors that bond with the concrete to provide the highest level of structural strength.
Andel’s fast-cure, waterproof, liquid membrane coating system is applied to the inside of the bund. Using a primer layer, a membrane with fleece layer and a topcoat, the system provides high resistance to the elements. Topcoats can be tailored to resist a range of contaminants.

ReBund® can be installed on most surfaces from soft ground to asphalt to concrete.
The modular nature of the system means that because corner posts can allow for 90 degree turns in either direction, the system can be adapted to fit around irregular shapes, potentially freeing up space which would otherwise be wasted with a traditional concrete bund.
