The Floodline® Pipe-in-Pipe Water Sensor is designed to detect the presence or monitor the level of water and other conductive liquids within the interstitial space of double-skin pipes or tanks, or as a high-level tank alarm.
Double-skin pipes and tanks are containment systems that have an outer wall to provide secondary protection against leaks and spills. The space between the inner and outer walls, called interstitial space, allows for the installation of leak detection systems, providing an early warning to prevent damage from water and conductive liquid leaks.
The Floodline® Pipe-in-Pipe Water Sensor plays a vital role across many industries, helping to prevent leaks by either detecting water or monitoring water levels, maintaining the integrity of critical systems.

The sensor design is based around a point sensor that is specifically adapted with a water-tight fitting into a female threaded socket which are provided at strategic points in the outer wall of double-skin pipes or tanks.
Short stainless steel probes extend into the interstitial space created between the inner and outer pipe or tank walls. If water or any conductive liquid escapes into the cavity and comes into contact the sensor probes, the alarm is activated. The sensor can also be used as a high-level tank alarm.
