Headquartered in Barnsley, Andel specialises in specialist leak detection, water sustainability and environmental protection systems. The judges praised Andel's multi-faceted approach to sustainability that other businesses can be inspired by. Not only is it working to reduce its environmental impact by investing in its facilities, but it has also demonstrated a commitment to the wellbeing of its workforce and the local community and supports charitable causes both in the UK and overseas.

Andel has donated a proportion of flood defence profit to support natural flood management and has supported a long list of other charitable causes, most notably in 2022 raising £20,000 and sending eight volunteers to deliver aid to Ukraine

Andel is committed to be Net Zero by 2025 and has renewed its focus on its R&D department centred at leeds University's Nexus complex in two very specific areas – cost-effective ways to conserve water by reducing unnecessary water usage and protecting communities and businesses from the devastating effects of flooding.

Peter Double, Managing Director, commented, "We are all absolutely delighted to have picked up this highly coveted award, our second sustainability award, having won the Sustainability Award at the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards in 2023. We have a developed a strong Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance agenda and it is a testament to the team at Andel that our efforts have been recognised."
